What SH (Refrigerator Display) Means
SH in the refrigerator temperature position on a Frigidaire electronic-control model means the control reads the fresh-food temperature sensor as shorted. Frigidaire groups SH with the system errors that need service. With a shorted reading, the control cannot tell how cold the compartment really is.
Common Causes of SH (Refrigerator Display)
- Shorted fresh-food thermistor
- Moisture or ice inside the sensor connector
- Pinched sensor wiring
- Control board input fault
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Place a thermometer in the middle shelf so you have a real temperature reading. Do one power reset by unplugging or switching off the breaker for 5 minutes. If SH comes back, leave the panels in place and schedule service.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Moisture-related shorts need the connector cleaned or replaced and sealed properly, or the fault comes back.
- Getting to the sensor involves removing interior ducts wired to the control system.
- Damage caused during a repair attempt may not be covered by your warranty — check your warranty terms first.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
