Frigidaire ductless mini-splits are sold in cooling-only and heat pump versions for single rooms, additions and spaces without ductwork. The outdoor unit holds the compressor and condenser fan, the indoor unit holds the evaporator coil, blower and control board, and the two are connected by refrigerant lines, wiring and a condensate drain.
Because installation and refrigerant work on these systems is regulated, we start by checking what can be tested safely: power, filters, the condensate drain, fan motors, sensors and communication between the units. If the fault is in the refrigerant circuit, we explain what the repair involves and who needs to perform it before any work is scheduled.
Common Ductless Mini-Split Problems
Indoor unit running but not cooling or heating
Water dripping from the indoor unit
Display showing an error code or flashing lights
Outdoor unit not starting
Remote control not responding
Musty smell when the system starts
