Frigidaire Air Purifier Repair

Air Purifier Repair, Done Right the First Time

Frigidaire air purifiers, including HEPA models with Wi-Fi control, are simple machines built around a fan, filters and an air quality sensor. Most problems turn out to be a filter that needs replacing or resetting, but a fan that will not start, a loud motor or a stuck sensor reading can point to a real fault.

Frigidaire air purifiers move room air through a pre-filter and a HEPA or combination filter, and some models add a carbon layer for odors, an air quality sensor that adjusts fan speed, and Wi-Fi control through an app. With few moving parts, the fan motor, control board and sensor are the main components that can fail.

We start with filter fit, reset steps and sensor cleaning, since those cause most complaints, then test the fan motor and control. If the fault is in a part that makes repair poor value on a small unit, you hear that before any work is done.

Air Purifier Repair FAQ

On most models the filter reminder has to be reset by hand after a replacement. The owner's manual shows the button or button combination for your model. Also make sure the new filter is the correct type and that any plastic wrapping has been removed.

Unplug the purifier first. Then check the owner's manual for how to clean the sensor opening, which can collect dust. If the reading still does not change when the room air clearly changes, the sensor or control may need attention.

It depends on the model and its age. Many issues are solved with filter care, cleaning or a reset. If the unit is still under the manufacturer's warranty, check that coverage first. If a motor or control board fails on a small purifier, we tell you honestly when the repair would cost more than it is worth.
