I smell gas near my range. What should I do?

Do not use the range, do not flip light switches or use anything that could spark, and leave the home. Call your gas utility or 911 from outside. Once the gas company says it is safe, we can diagnose the range itself.

My Air Fry results got worse. Is the oven failing?

Not always. Air Fry depends on the convection fan and element and on air moving around the food, so an overloaded tray or the wrong rack position can change the results. If the convection fan is noisy or not spinning, or the oven runs cool on every mode, that points to a part we can test.

One element on my glass-top range stays on high. Is that dangerous?

Turn the element off at the controls. If it keeps heating, switch off the range at the breaker and leave it off. An element that will not shut off usually points to a failed switch or control relay, and the range should not be used until it is repaired.

Should I run self-clean before the repair visit?

If the oven already has a heating or control problem, hold off. A high-heat self-clean cycle puts extra stress on the elements, the temperature sensor and the door lock, so it is better to have the fault diagnosed first.
