My front-load washer smells musty. Does it need a repair?

Usually not at first. Wipe the folds of the door seal dry after washing, leave the door and detergent drawer open between loads, use the right amount of HE detergent, and run a cleaning cycle as your owner's manual describes. If the smell continues, the pump filter or a slow-draining hose may be holding water.

The washer stopped with water inside. How do I get the door open?

Do not force the door. Unplug the washer first and let hot water cool. Put down towels and a shallow pan, because more water may come out than one pan holds. Your owner's manual shows how to drain it through the pump filter or the small drain hose; if you are not comfortable doing that, call us.

The washer shakes hard on spin. What should I check?

Make sure the load is balanced, that the shipping bolts were removed when the washer was installed, and that the machine sits level on a solid floor. Heavy shaking after that often points to worn shock absorbers, suspension springs or drum bearings, which should be diagnosed before they cause more damage.
