What DI SP Means
DI SP (sometimes shown as DISP) on a Frigidaire refrigerator with a door dispenser means ice is jammed in the chute — a cube has been stuck there too long.
Common Causes of DI SP
- Cubes fused together in the bin
- Chute door flap not closing fully
- Clumped ice from infrequent use or a warm freezer
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Use only your hand or a plastic utensil — never a knife or metal tool. Open the freezer or refrigerator door, remove the ice bin as your manual shows, clear clumped ice from the chute and bin, and dry the bin before reinstalling. Keep the ice maker in use regularly so cubes do not fuse.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- None — clearing ice from the bin and chute is routine owner maintenance. Call if ice keeps melting and fusing, which can point to a temperature problem.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
