What AS Means
Frigidaire's dehumidifier error code guide groups AS with codes that mean a temperature or humidity sensor has failed. Use and care manuals such as the FFAD2233W1 describe AS or ES as a failed sensor and direct owners to service.
Common Causes of AS
- Failed humidity sensor
- Failed temperature sensor
- Loose sensor connection
- Control board fault
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Turn the dehumidifier off and unplug it first. Wait a minute, plug it back in and restart it once. If AS returns, leave it unplugged and book service — do not open the housing.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Sensors are inside the housing near the control board and powered wiring.
- Dehumidifiers contain a sealed refrigerant system; opening or recharging it requires certification and specialized equipment.
- Damage caused during a repair attempt may not be covered by your warranty — check your warranty terms first.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
