What HO / Hd Means
HO or Hd on a Frigidaire dishwasher is not a fault. Frigidaire describes it as Heat Delay or Heater On mode — the dishwasher is pausing to heat the water to its target temperature.
Common Causes of HO / Hd
- Incoming water cooler than the cycle requires
- Water heater set low
- Long pipe run from the water heater
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Let it run. Frigidaire notes heating typically takes about 1 to 2 minutes per degree. To shorten the wait, run the kitchen faucet until the water is hot before starting a cycle.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- None — normal operation. If the display stays on for an unusually long time and the cycle never finishes, a heating problem may exist and is worth a diagnostic.
