What SH (Freezer Display) Means
SH shown in the freezer temperature position on a Frigidaire electronic-control model means the freezer temperature sensor reads shorted. Frigidaire lists it among the system errors that need service.
Common Causes of SH (Freezer Display)
- Shorted freezer thermistor
- Water intrusion in the sensor connector
- Damaged harness near the evaporator area
- Control board input fault
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Check the actual freezer temperature with a thermometer between packages. Do one power reset (unplug or breaker off for 5 minutes). If SH returns, schedule service.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- The sensor area shares space with the defrost heater and evaporator fan wiring.
- A shorted reading can come from the harness rather than the sensor, which needs meter testing to confirm.
- Damage caused during a repair attempt may not be covered by your warranty — check your warranty terms first.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
