What F1 Means
F1 on Frigidaire electric and gas ranges with an electronic oven control is listed in Frigidaire's range error code guide as a shorted keypad. The control believes a key is pressed when it is not.
Common Causes of F1
- Shorted or stuck membrane key
- Moisture or grease behind the touchpad
- Ribbon cable fault
- Oven control board fault
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Turn the oven off and let it cool. Then switch off the range breaker (or unplug it if the cord is reachable without pulling the range out) for 30 seconds, as Frigidaire's guide recommends, and restore power. Wipe the touchpad gently with a barely damp cloth first while power is off, and let it dry. If F1 returns, book service. On gas ranges, if you smell gas at any point, do not operate any controls — leave the home and call your gas utility.

- The keypad and control board are behind the console with line-voltage wiring.
- Some ranges will not heat while F1 is active, so guessing parts leaves you without an oven longer.
