What F91 Means
F91 on Frigidaire electric and gas ranges with an electronic oven control is one of the F90–F94 door lock codes. Frigidaire's owner guide groups them as a door lock issue; Frigidaire range service literature defines F91 specifically as the maximum number of door unlock attempts being exceeded.

- Lock motor failing to move the latch
- Open lock motor coil
- Lock switch wiring fault
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Let the oven cool fully first. Press the Unlock key and follow any on-screen unlock directions, as Frigidaire's guide advises, then switch off the range breaker for 30 seconds and restore power. Do not pry the door. If the code returns or the door stays locked, book service. On gas ranges, if you smell gas at any point, do not operate any controls — leave the home and call your gas utility.

- The lock motor and its switches sit above the oven cavity behind the backguard or under the cooktop, close to hot insulation and wiring.
- Forcing a locked door can bend the latch and damage the door.
