The EFIC103-SC combines a countertop ice maker with a self-clean cycle. Countertop units do not keep ice frozen once it drops into the basket, so gradual melting is normal and the machine recycles that water to make new ice.
Leaks usually come from a drain plug that is not seated or a cracked reservoir. If the unit powers on but the fan or compressor sounds strained, unplug it and have it checked rather than continuing to run it.
