What ES Means
Frigidaire lists ES among dehumidifier codes that indicate a failed temperature or humidity sensor. Older manuals describe AS or ES together as a sensor failure requiring service.

🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Switch the unit off and unplug it. After a minute, restore power and try one restart. If ES comes back, keep it unplugged and book service.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- The sensor is attached inside the unit, often at the evaporator coil, which requires disassembly.
- Dehumidifiers contain a sealed refrigerant system; opening or recharging it requires certification and specialized equipment.
- Damage caused during a repair attempt may not be covered by your warranty — check your warranty terms first.
