What i20 Means
Frigidaire's own error code guide defines i20 as the unit not draining completely. Water left standing in the tub at the end of the drain phase triggers it.
Common Causes of i20
- Clogged filter or sump
- Knockout plug still in a new garbage disposer
- Kinked or clogged drain hose
- Missing drain hose high loop
- Failed or obstructed drain pump
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Press Cancel and wait for the unit to stop, then switch off the breaker before reaching into the tub. Remove and rinse the filter assembly and clear debris from the sump opening. If the dishwasher drains into a garbage disposer that was just installed, Frigidaire notes the disposer knockout plug must be removed. Also check that the drain hose is not kinked and has a high loop at least 32 inches off the floor, as Frigidaire specifies. Restore power, reset with Cancel, and run a short cycle. If i20 returns, book service.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- The drain pump is under the tub behind the kickplate, in the same area as the wiring junction box.
- Standing water in the tub and base means towels and a proper disconnect are needed before any part removal.
- Damage caused during a repair attempt may not be covered by your warranty — check your warranty terms first.
