What UF Means
UF on Frigidaire-built dishwashers with a vent fan means the fan is not running correctly during drying — repair references describe the vent fan speed being wrong or the fan failing.
Common Causes of UF
- Failed vent fan motor
- Obstruction at the vent
- Fan wiring fault
- Control board not driving the fan
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Switch off the breaker for a few minutes and restore power as a one-time reset. Make sure the vent opening on the door is clear. If UF returns, book service.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- The fan is mounted inside the door with wiring routed through the hinge area.
- Replacing the fan without checking the board output can leave the fault unresolved.
- Damage caused during a repair attempt may not be covered by your warranty — check your warranty terms first.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
