What F31 Means
F31 on Frigidaire electric and gas ranges with an electronic oven control means the oven temperature probe connection reads shorted.
Common Causes of F31
- Shorted oven sensor
- Pinched or melted sensor wiring
- Control board input fault
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Turn the oven off and let it cool. Then switch off the range breaker (or unplug it if the cord is reachable without pulling the range out) for 30 seconds, as Frigidaire's guide recommends, and restore power. If F31 returns, book service. On gas ranges, if you smell gas at any point, do not operate any controls — leave the home and call your gas utility.
