What F1 or F2 Means
Frigidaire's dehumidifier error code guide lists F1 and F2 alongside AS, ES, L1 and F5 as indications that a temperature or humidity sensor has failed. On Frigidaire room air conditioners, F1 and F2 mean freeze protection instead, so the appliance type matters.
Common Causes of F1 or F2
- Failed temperature sensor
- Failed humidity sensor
- Connector or wiring fault
- Control board fault
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Turn the dehumidifier off, unplug it and wait a minute. Restore power and restart once. If F1 or F2 returns, unplug it and contact service.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Sensor replacement requires opening the housing near live electrical parts.
- Dehumidifiers contain a sealed refrigerant system; opening or recharging it requires certification and specialized equipment.
- Damage caused during a repair attempt may not be covered by your warranty — check your warranty terms first.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
