What E68 Means
E68 on Frigidaire front-load washers with an internal heater is listed in repair references as current leakage to ground on the heater circuit, or an opened heater fuse. It is an electrical safety fault.
Common Causes of E68
- Heating element leaking current to ground
- Water intrusion into wiring
- Opened thermal fuse on the heater
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Unplug the washer and leave it unplugged. Check the floor for water and do not touch wet areas near the outlet while the washer is plugged in. Book service — do not keep resetting this code.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Current leakage to ground is a shock hazard, especially where water is present.
- Heater and wiring tests must be done with insulation testers, not by trial resets.
