What LC Means
Frigidaire's room air conditioner code guide lists LC as a communication error between indoor and outdoor units.
Common Causes of LC
- Loose or damaged communication wiring
- Failed indoor or outdoor control board
- Power supply problem
- Weather or physical damage to connections
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Turn the system off and switch off power at the breaker or unplug it for about 30 seconds. Restore power and restart. If LC returns, keep the system off and book service.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Communication wiring and boards carry high voltage in split-type equipment.
- Diagnosis requires electrical testing tools and access to both units.
- Damage caused during a repair attempt may not be covered by your warranty — check your warranty terms first.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
