What F8 / F9 Means
F8 and F9 on older Frigidaire ovens (wall ovens and range ovens from before the expanded two-digit controls arrived in the mid-2000s) with a single-digit F-code electronic oven control are documented in Frigidaire service literature as lock motor switches being improperly positioned — out of sequence or shorted.

- Oven control fault
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Let the oven cool completely, then switch off the breaker for 30 seconds and restore power. Do not force the door. If F8 or F9 persists, book service.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- The lock mechanism is near hot-zone insulation and wiring.
- Prying the door can damage the latch.
- Damage caused during a repair attempt may not be covered by your warranty — check your warranty terms first.
