What E52 Means
E52 on Frigidaire front-load washers with a digital display indicates a bad signal from the tacho generator — the sensor that reports motor speed.
Common Causes of E52
- Faulty tachometer on the motor
- Loose motor harness connection
- Motor fault
- Motor control board issue
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Unplug the washer first and wait until the drum has stopped completely. Open the door and redistribute the load — a single heavy item like a bath mat or comforter can strain the motor — and remove part of an oversized load. Plug back in and run a Drain & Spin. If E52 returns, book service.

- The drive motor and its inverter board carry high current and can hold a charge after unplugging; they are not owner-serviceable.
