What EF1 Means
EF1 on Frigidaire front-load washers with a digital display indicates a clogged drain pump.
Common Causes of EF1
- Lint and debris in the pump filter
- Coins, hair ties or small socks in the pump
- Restricted drain hose
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Unplug the washer first, and if hot water was used, let it cool. Place towels and a shallow pan in front of the lower access panel, open the drain pump filter door as your manual shows, drain the water slowly, and unscrew the filter to clear lint and objects. Refit it snugly, close the panel, plug in and run a Drain & Spin. If EF1 returns, book service.

- Beyond the filter, removing the pump involves water-filled hoses and electrical connections inside the cabinet.
