What F4 Means
F4 on older Frigidaire ovens (wall ovens and range ovens from before the expanded two-digit controls arrived in the mid-2000s) with a single-digit F-code electronic oven control indicates a shorted oven temperature sensor.
Common Causes of F4
- Shorted oven sensor
- Pinched or heat-damaged wiring
- Control input fault
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Turn the oven off and let it cool completely. Then switch off the oven breaker for 30 seconds and restore power. If F4 returns, book service.

- Sensor wiring runs behind the oven where insulation and live connections are.
