What E59 Means
E59 on Frigidaire front-load washers with a digital display means there has been no tachometer signal for 3 seconds — the board is not receiving motor speed feedback at all.
Common Causes of E59
- Disconnected motor harness
- Failed tachometer
- Motor not turning
- Board input fault
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Unplug the washer first and wait until the drum has stopped completely. Open the door and redistribute the load — a single heavy item like a bath mat or comforter can strain the motor — and remove part of an oversized load. Plug back in and run a Drain & Spin. If E59 appears again, book service.

- The drive motor and its inverter board carry high current and can hold a charge after unplugging; they are not owner-serviceable.
