What F10 Means
F10 on Frigidaire wall ovens with an electronic control is listed in Frigidaire's oven error code guide as thermal runaway — the oven is detecting temperatures higher than normal.
Common Causes of F10
- Oven temperature sensor reading incorrectly
- Bake or broil relay stuck closed on the control board
- Wiring fault in the sensor circuit
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Turn the oven off right away and leave the door closed while it cools. Once cool, switch off the oven breaker for 30 seconds and restore power. If F10 appears again, leave the oven off and book service.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- A wall oven that keeps heating uncontrolled is a fire risk and should stay off until repaired.
- Built-in wall ovens must be pulled from the cabinet to reach rear wiring, which requires support and two people.
- Damage caused during a repair attempt may not be covered by your warranty — check your warranty terms first.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
