What E2 Means
E2 on Frigidaire top-load washers with a digital display means water takes too long to drain or is not draining properly, per Frigidaire's support article.
Common Causes of E2
- Kinked or clogged drain hose
- Standpipe too high or restricted
- Lid not closed so spin does not start
- Drain pump obstruction or failure
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Unplug the washer first. Check that the home circuit breaker or fuse for the washer is on. Straighten any kinks in the drain hose and make sure it is not clogged or pushed too deep into the standpipe. Close the lid — the washer will not spin with it open — plug back in and press Start/Pause. If E2 returns, book service.

- The drain pump is under the washer, which must be tilted or laid down to reach — a heavy, water-filled appliance that can tip or leak.
