What E41 Means
E41 on Frigidaire front-load washers with a digital display (including Affinity, Gallery and current front-load models) means the control board thinks the door switch is open — it does not see the door as closed.
Common Causes of E41
- Clothing caught in the door
- Worn or broken door strike
- Faulty door lock assembly or switch
- Wiring fault to the door lock
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Open the door, check that no clothing is caught in the gasket or latch area, then close it firmly until it clicks. Unplug for 5 minutes and try again. If E41 persists, book service.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- The door lock assembly is behind the front panel and door boot, with live wiring connections.
- Damage caused during a repair attempt may not be covered by your warranty — check your warranty terms first.
