What E56 Means
E56 on Frigidaire front-load washers with a digital display indicates high motor current.
Common Causes of E56
- Overloaded drum
- Motor fault
- Drum drag from worn bearings or a foreign object
- Motor control board fault
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Unplug the washer first and wait until the drum has stopped completely. Open the door and redistribute the load — a single heavy item like a bath mat or comforter can strain the motor — and remove part of an oversized load. Plug back in and run a Drain & Spin. If E56 persists, book service.
