Frigidaire Top-Load Washer E1 Long Fill Error

E1 on Frigidaire top-load washers with a digital display means, in Frigidaire's own words, that water is not entering the washer or the fill is slow. It is the top-load counterpart to the front-load E11 code.

What E1 Means

E1 on Frigidaire top-load washers with a digital display means, in Frigidaire's own words, that water is not entering the washer or the fill is slow. It is the top-load counterpart to the front-load E11 code.

Common Causes of E1

  • Faucets partly closed
  • Kinked fill hose
  • Clogged hose or inlet screens
  • Low household water pressure
  • Failed inlet valve

🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try

Unplug the washer before touching hoses. Make sure the lid is fully closed, both faucets are fully open and the fill hoses are not kinked. Frigidaire also lists cleaning the hose filter screens: with the faucets turned off, disconnect the hoses, rinse the screens, and reconnect hand-tight plus a small snug turn so they do not leak. Check that household water pressure is normal. Plug back in and retry. If E1 returns, book service.

⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That

  • Beyond the hose screens, the inlet valve sits inside the washer console with line-voltage wiring.
  • Overtightened or cross-threaded hose fittings can leak slowly behind the washer.
  • Damage caused during a repair attempt may not be covered by your warranty — check your warranty terms first.

Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
