What E13 Means
E13 on Frigidaire front-load washers with a digital display (including Affinity, Gallery and current front-load models) is described by Appliance Aid as a water leak in the tub or an air leak in the air bell (the pressure-sensing chamber). In practice the washer is losing water or air pressure it should be holding.
Common Causes of E13
- Tear in the door boot
- Loose hose clamp inside the cabinet
- Leaking tub seal or sump hose
- Air leak in the air bell or pressure hose
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Stop the cycle, unplug the washer and turn off both water faucets before looking. Check the floor around and under the front of the washer and wipe it dry. Look at the door boot (gasket) for socks or tears without pulling it off. Do not tilt the washer or remove panels. If you see water or E13 returns, book service.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- Leaks inside a washer can reach the motor and control wiring, which is why power must be off before any inspection.
- Replacing a door boot requires removing spring clamps without tearing the new gasket.
- Damage caused during a repair attempt may not be covered by your warranty — check your warranty terms first.
