What E14 Means
E14 on Frigidaire front-load washers with a digital display (including Affinity, Gallery and current front-load models) relates to the reed switch that senses the dispenser drawer. Repair references describe it as the drawer not being detected as closed.
Common Causes of E14
- Dispenser drawer not fully closed
- Detergent buildup stopping the drawer
- Faulty reed switch or magnet
🔧 One Safe Check You Can Try
Pull the dispenser drawer out, rinse away any detergent residue, and push it back until it seats completely. Run a short cycle. If E14 remains, book service.
⚠ Why You Shouldn't Go Further Than That
- The reed switch is behind the dispenser housing under the top panel, alongside the inlet valves and wiring.
- Damage caused during a repair attempt may not be covered by your warranty — check your warranty terms first.
Opening a panel to inspect or repair something yourself doesn't automatically cancel your manufacturer's warranty — but it can risk accidental damage, and some manufacturers do have specific service conditions. Check your product's warranty terms, or ask us, before deciding.
