What E48 Means
E48 on Frigidaire front-load washers with a digital display means the board sees the door PTC (lock) circuit as closed when it should not be.
Common Causes of E48
- Door lock assembly stuck in the locked state
- Shorted wiring in the lock circuit
- Control board fault

Unplug the washer for 5 minutes, then restart. If E48 comes back, book service.

- The lock assembly is mounted behind the door boot and front panel with live wiring.
